Job purpose
The Controller will be responsible for leading the global accounting and controls function, defining and elevating accounting policies, maintaining fiscal records, building and overseeing global financial infrastructure, and preparing financial reports in compliance with overall reporting requirements and operational procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Direct financial functions of Greenwave in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within our industry
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Lead the month-end close process with timely and accurate oversight of finance personnel at the corporate headquarters and overseas
  • Manage external audit firm, tax service providers and outsourced international finance functions
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary companies, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all financial systems are properly leveraged, integrated and upgraded to capture and produce timely and accurate information and to support the organization’s growth and change
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential

Qualifications

The following skills are must haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant and progressively responsible experience and training (experience at a large public accounting firm is a plus, but not required)
  • Active CPA license is preferred
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent accounting software and administration skills
  • Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct reports and peers
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels, including senior management
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker
